Do you care about the future of the Holme Valley? Do you want to have a say on what type of houses are built, how infrastructure could be improved and what green spaces and features are important to you? Then have your say on the Neighbourhood Development Plan! Holme Valley Parish Council has set up a Steering Group (the Parish Council and representatives of community groups) to do the work needed to produce a Neighbourhood Plan for the Valley. This, with the Kirklees Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework, will control new building and land use for the next 15 years. The Plan cannot contradict the Local Plan; but can add detail so that any new buildings reflect the Valley’s characteristics. We want as many people as possible across the Valley to tell us about what matters most to them as it’s really important we develop a plan which reflects residents’ priorities. Please spend a few minutes of your time giving us your views by answering our short questionnaire which is at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HVNHPInitialConsultation Further information and the questionnaire are available on-line through the Parish Council website: www.holmevalleyparishcouncil.gov.uk/np . We are also hosting drop-in sessions throughout the Valley during June so you can find out more. The sessions are all open from 1pm - 9pm and details of the venues are given below: These will be held between 1pm and 9pm on: June 7th at Hade Edge Band Room, HD9 2DF June 9th at Holmfirth Civic Hall, HD9 3AS June 13th at St David’s Parish Hall, Holmbridge, HD9 2NE June 15th at Hepworth Village Hall, HD9 1TE June 19th at St Mary’s Parish Rooms, Honley, HD9 6AH June 23rd at Wooldale Community Centre, HD9 1XZ ... Public Footpath Clearing Holmfirth
June 4, 2017, 10:00am
Victoria Park, Holmfirth
Within the Holmfirth Conservation Area there are 7 Public Footpaths that have been identified that need clearing of overgrowth. The footpath we will work on this day leads up from Victoria Park towards Cooper Lane, which itself leads to Binns Lane. This footpath is used as a direct route into Holmfirth Town Centre but during the Autumn/Winter months becomes very slippery and not used as a result.
ARE REQUIRED TO HELP IMPROVE THIS PATHWAY AND ASSIST THE MANY RESIDENTS (YOUNG AND ELDERLY) THAT LIVE IN THIS PART OF OUR TOWN.
Volunteers are to meet at the top right side in Victoria Park on 4th June at 10AM.
It is hoped that residents who will benefit from this clear up will come along to support us as best they can, even if its just to see what Holmepride and Holmfirth Conservation Group can achieve working together.
The orginal venue for this day was to clear the waste ground next to Longleys Shop in Holmfirth. This was cancelled as Longleys will now be clearing the site themselves in the next few weeks, allowing us to redirect our resources to Victoria Park Public Footpath.
Please bring with you gardening gloves and shears if you have them. Anyone interested to joining us on the day, please reply as going or interested so enough bags / tools can be sourced for the day.
