Honley Youth Worker
Are you driven to increase opportunities for young people? Can you deliver a programme to see real change in the community and for individual life chances?
We are looking for a skilled relational youth worker to work with young people in the Honley community. We are looking for someone capable of running new work on strong foundations, but without existing provision to start from. As the project develops this role will involve spending the majority of the available time with young people.
We are therefore looking for someone who can engage with and listen to young people, working with them to grow new opportunities; someone with creativity and determination to turn ideas into reality and someone who will take initiative.
You will be confident in working in multiple settings with young people of all ages who may be vulnerable or challenging including detached work, open settings and targeted groups work. As part of the team with the Youth Coordinator, you will need to be a highly motivated and flexible worker.
We have a strong fundraising strategy in place and we envision this to be a long-standing role. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of an exciting new project.
This role is advertised by Friends of Honley, under the umbrella of Honley Village Community Trust, which was established in 2015. They rely on the generosity of local people, grant money and businesses to fund and carry out projects that make our village a nicer place to live. Friends of Honley is part of a strong community and works in partnership with other community groups, businesses and councils to run projects that benefit everyone in Honley. www.honley.info/listings/friends-of-honley/
