Holmfirth Arts Festival 2019

13th June 2019 - 19th June 2019

This year’s festival takes place over three days from 14-16 June and reflects ‘Creativity in the Landscape’ inspired by the stunning surroundings of the Holme Valley.
Come and try something different from a sparkling programme of music, theatre, comedy, exhibitions, workshops and new commissions, preceded by an extensive community engagement programme.
Taking place at various locations and on the streets of Holmfirth.
Suitable for all ages.

Holmfirth Arts Festival is one of Yorkshire’s best small festivals and takes place over three days from Friday 14 June until Sunday 16 June, 2019.

Located in the Pennine Hills of West Yorkshire, Holmfirth Arts Festival invites local people and visitors to get creative and explore the landscape. ​

The Festival invites audiences and participants to enjoy events in unique venues, picturesque streets and the surrounding natural environment.

You will find world class artists performing in village halls, churches, cafes, the Picturedrome, Holmfirth’s atmospheric live music venue and up on the hills overlooking the town.

Opportunities to participate in high quality arts activities can be found across the Holme Valley, in schools, community venues and in the landscape. Holmfirth Arts Festival celebrates creativity in the landscape by: – Commissioning new work and supporting artists – Inspiring diverse communities to engage with the arts and their heritage – Caring for the environment – Connecting locally, regionally and internationally Holmfirth Arts Festival is preceded by an extensive community engagement programme and a series of bi-monthly events in venues across the Holme Valley, throughout the year.

Here’s the exciting line up for Holmfirth Arts Festival on 14-16 June 2019

Three days of shows coming from all corners of the globe, including headliners such as TV comedian Simon Evans; spoken word maestro Rose Condo, Latin jazz quintetPanjumby, a double bill brass concert, children’s theatre, a silent film with live piano and everyone’s favourite dance band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.
There are also plenty of FREE events, performances and activities over the weekend for all ages.
Join us during the day on Saturday 15 June for DIVERSE LANDSCAPES – our free programme of outdoor arts events – made possible with funding from Arts Council England Project Grants and Longley Farm.
See top quality street theatre, musicians, make a banner for the parade, experience virtual reality with Conductor. Try something different!
Don’t miss Circus Raj, all the way from Rajasthan, fresh from filming with Tim Burton for the new Disney Dumbo film, and you must see Grass Man, a creature made of grass, mingling with crowds.

Thanks to our partnerships with Woven, the Kirklees Textiles Festival and Bower Roebuck Textile Manufacturers in New Mill, the Textile Banner Parade takes place on Father’s Day Sunday 16 June, leaving Hollowgate at 2pm.
