Join the highly knowledgeable and entertaining Paul Gaskell from The Wild Trout Trust who will be giving us a short tour of the River Holme in Holmfirth, telling us about the fascinating ecology of the River Holme and showing ways we can improve our stretch of river for Trout in the Town. Table tennis, badminton, Tai Chi, yoga, pool, cards, cuppa and a chat all for £5 at the Phoenix Centre, Dunford Road Holmfirth. Not Olympic standard, everyone plays for fun. You don't need a partner and a warm welcome awaits you. Come and give it a go or tell your over 50s family and friends.
Gentle Movement sessions allow us to gently tune up our bodies so that they are ready to move. We warm up with yoga, tai chi and dance to improve suppleness and strength. We create simple movement working as individuals or groups with music and sound. We end with meditation. You do not need to have any experience of dance to take part, simply a wish to enjoy moving your body through space.
It's an Ann Summers party with a difference! It's aimed at ensuring ladies wear correctly fitted bras, and also getting ladies in Holmfirth mixing and socialising and lifting the taboo surrounding Underwear. It will be held at Gonzo Bar, and it really is a night based around female empowerment! There will be chances to play games, win prizes, raffles and also chances for bra fitting and purchasing new underwear if the guests desire.

The Holmfirth Table Football Network has been set up to raise money for charities and sports clubs. The group meets every Friday, 6pm at Thongsbridge Tennis Club Bar The table is playable whenever the Tennis club is open but regular sessions with more experienced players are on Fridays, with monthly Tournaments. The table costs 40pence per play and all proceeds go to the Junior Fund at the tennis club which ensure the young players have transport to Tennis Tournaments. The money generated…
